Bimetallic Thermometers

In addition to their normal use in heating systems, radial bimetallic thermometers are also used in all industrial applications where mercury is prohibited by current regulations. Examples include oil, food, and pharmaceutical plants.

 

These are instruments that detect temperature variations by exploiting the expansion of a bimetallic spiral at the end of which is placed the indicating hand.
